PROPERTIES OF TOOLS OR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE INTEROPERABILITY OF INFORMATION

The library has no tools for interoperability, therefore I think in a very short time the Main Library will have to choose to implement tools like E- learning, which allow users to perform such distance learning courses in management such as databases.

also desirable that the Library begin the process of digitizing their collections in this way to acquire information in electronic, magnetic and optical disks. thus providing services as digital library.

The General Library has the collection development unit, consisting of Acquisitions and technical processes, the latter is responsible for cataloging and classifying library materials in all formats for both analog and digital, taking into account international standards. To which has a group of professionals in information science.
The purpose of the library is to implement practical ways for users to access their collections for which they establish policies that allow uniformity, easy searching and interaction with the collections.
for which use Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR),
allowing bibliographic description of the material.
General Library uses different classification systems which are:
Decimal Classification System Dewe,
to classify the bibliographic material by theme, is a type of alphanumeric classification.
is implemented by the Library for general library books, for example the book: DIGITAL LIBRARY, concepts, resources and standards Author: Saul Martinez Equihua, Dewe: 025.00285 M17.
Classification System LCC (Library of Congress classification) , classification system developed by the Library of Congress of the United States, which divides knowledge into different letters .
General Library
In using this classification system for the collections of the music room, as you are (music scores and sound recordings).
CLASSIFICATION EXAMPLE LCC: TITLE: Klaviertrios, AUTHOR: MOZART, WOLFGANG AMADEUS 1756-1791, M69K M312 Classification Number score.
Local Classification Systems: the Library has implemented local classification systems for the organization of the following special collections (thesis, papers, brochures and magazines) that meet the needs of the organization of the collections. Examples are
magazine MODERNITY AND TECHNOLOGY LIBRARIES of LINARES C, Radames, which are organized alphabetically in the collection. EXAMPLE: in: Libraries has and Information Technology Vol.3, No. 1 (Jan-Mar.2006), p. 38-45.
Lehnus table: gives numerical values \u200b\u200bto letters of the author's surname, to form the key copyright or Libristica.
Categories Lists: on the website of the Library General category lists are used or electronic links so that users can access services provided by the Library. http://www.javeriana.edu.co/biblos/inicio/inicio.htm .
Taxonomies: taxonomies are intended to group terms hierarchically related to wing person who provides consultation to find the correct term in a specific content.
Representing this in the Library's website can enter to electronic resources, which will display the search option of library resources and in turn this will allow us to enter the Metabuscador . http://www.javeriana.edu.co/biblos/recursos/metabuscador.htm .
Thesaurus: General Library, use the Thesaurus to implement a controlled vocabulary, using the highly structured and formalized "aid for indexing" own a thesaurus can see the equivalence between natural language and terms standard. An example of a thesaurus in information science is the Latin American Thesaurus in library science and information (TELACIBIN) of Naumis Catalina Peña de la Universidad Autonoma de Mexico.
LEMB (list of subject headings for libraries): is another tool that is also used to implement a standardized language all areas of knowledge (subjects, keywords, subject headings), which allows efficient recovery of information. Metadata
: General Library does not use metadata on its website for the retrieval of information, however it is important to me because it improves the organization and exchange of information.
MARC (Machine Readable Cataloguing): General Library uses the MARC standard format for sharing and cataloging of library materials online. UNICORN
: is software available to the General Library for the integrated management of resources.

ORGANIZATION OF KNOWLEDGE OF WEB 2.0 APPLICATIONS LIBRARY

2.0 WEB APPLICATIONS
web site General Library, currently has a chat feature that allows the communication line with an official of the library, which will help resolve any concerns you have.
Web 2.0 allows us to use applications involving the interaction between users, since it offers the opportunity to exchange web site content, some of the applications you would recommend to implement are:
  • network service, which would help to Library users with common themes and activities to share information.
  • video hosting service, which would allow to upload video clips and share them with others.
  • Wiki is a web site where web pages may be edited and participants can create, edit or delete a shared text.

Implemantar these applications on the website of the Library, could become a good tool to attract the attention of new generations of users at a time, use more technology and tools.
